At 8.12pm on December 19, 1981, the Penlee Lifeboat set out to aid the stricken coaster 'Union Star'.
Sadly, all hands were lost and we pay tribute to those Cornishmen who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The basalt sand and volcanic rocks of Black Beach (Traigh na Cille) on the beautiful Isle of Mull. When I visited here one balmy evening last spring it was just me and a bloke playing a didgeridoo. I love Scottish beaches.

I can’t believe I’m writing this. I won the Lady Anne’s Way 100 miler. I really wanted this! It’s the first time covering the distance but I have been putting in the work and the 03:40 rises have been worth it. Thank you so much for all your kind messages!! 🏆🏃♂️
