@Accoid Abidjan is actually Abija/or Abidja just like Yorubas in other countries write it. The founder of Abidjan came from a Royal house of Ketu in Benin Republic. It was colonial masters that turned Abidja to Abidjan just some Europeans also referred to Yoruba and as Yorubans.

I took a flight from Port Bouët Airport en route Lagos. Everyone was speaking French aside from the Hosts and Hostesses who spoke some halting English. I was practically alone. Which was fine. Midway into the flight one of the mothers wanted to scold her daughter and I heard " ṣóo gbádùn ṣá?" What???!! I tentatively asked "Yorùbá ni yín Mà?" The entire aircraft became home instantaneously! French and English flew out of the window and Yorùbá became the lingua Franca. The warmth,the camaraderie was unbelievable. The colonial language took a back seat and Yorùbá erased the borders.
