@mathgage Nice find! Under the hood, we use a "floating point" representation (which means numbers are rounded after every operation & this can sometimes result in small precision errors). In this case, the calculator ends up thinking b is very close to 0 instead of 0 exactly!

I solved a series of problems today. The students had to analyze the problem and determine if the answer was correct. If not, using a sentence stem, they had to explain the mistake and how I should have solved it correctly. #LockedOnExcellence #LJHS #LoveMyLISD @LJHS
