@noahkagan made almost 100x more money by making his email copy more fun. “All it took was a bad joke and a hundred times increase in revenue to make me rethink how I communicated with my email list.” In his book Million Dollar Weekend, he writes about how in the early days of @AppSumo, a typical email would generate around $100. Once he hired someone to write casual, non-salesy and FUNNY email copy, the next email generated $9,563 in profit in 24 hours. The word “boner” was in the opening line (I was sad to read they ended up rewording it though). I’m not saying your emails should only be funny. The email they sent out also used great storytelling (you can read it if you get the book!), and it had just the right amount of jokes. So what about you? Are you gonna stop writing boring emails?

Most people who learn how to be a better writer end up sounding like every other person who learned how to be a "better writer". If you learn how to be funny, your authentic self is more likely to come out. At least that's what I think. Could be bullshit, I'm just some guy on X

If you're making a video or writing about someone doing something weird/embarrassing/crazy, here's how you can make it a lot funnier: Have at least one "normal" person observing the situation and reacting to it. The reaction is often funnier than the thing itself.

Remember that every word counts. Like, every one of them. Each word that you use! Cut as much as possible. Don't waste your reader's time is what I'm trying to say. There is not point in making it longer than necessary. Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is be concise.

I've listened to so much of @lexfridman that at this point, I feel closer to Lex Fridman than I feel close to my realistic blow-up doll of Lex Fridman.
