This year I’d be doing crazy stuffs and pushing myself to the Next level ; 1. I am starting my masters program. 2. I am starting Residency in Emergency Medicine in a Hosp with working MRI ,even though I may get depressed from the poor pay ,I feel it’s time to test the water. 3. I’d be relocating to a state I have never been to before where they speak an indigenous language I don’t know , so I’d be learning a new language and how to communicate . 4. i am considering starting a family this year although that would need money and Number 2 isn’t a good financial decision to me . 5. I have to boost and grow my social media to secure extra stream of income . I can’t even begin to say how overwhelmed I feel .

Post RTA patient rushed into ER , primary Assessment recognized Hemodynamic instability of patient and need for resuscitation, patient is significantly pale , HB result showed mild Anemia of about 27% ,patient was doing well but was later called that patient packed . There’s just so much wrong with our healthcare system. I love places where mortality isn’t just mortality , questions are asked so as to prevent such from happening . What do you mean we can’t do FAST , we can’t get blood for patients in Emergency until relatives donate or find someone to do that , let’s not even talk about the lackadaisical attitude of relatives ,like they are not worried about their person dying , it was this same slow process that made me donate blood for the P10A7 woman with PPH , I can’t be donating blood every 2 months . Nigeria Healthcare system doesn’t look like they are ready for Emergencies .

This is quite a shallow take. Once Nigeria starts working, which is highly unlikely, healthcare workers will get paid more, work in better facilities and work without having to cut corners. If Nigeria works, there won't be shortage of workers or equipment, so fatigue and burnout will be low. What this means is patient get better and faster care. Both HCWs and patients are happier. If this take is true, then all Nigerian HCWs who are abroad would have lost their licenses by now. So as I said, shallow take.

Drugs administration should be done by the pharmacist. They know the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics. Tbh, this is their area of expertise having trained in it for years. Thus, they shouldn't limit themselves into just ordering and dispensing only

Making Abortion illegal did not stop abortion in Nigeria , it increased morbidity and mortality from poor care and quackery , make abortion legal so these ladies or couples with choice can get professional care !

Let me explain it to you, using a true life story. In 2020 I had a childhood neighbor who was into "internet banking and online trades" during the COVID period He made a lot of money, bought a car, a land, opened a boutique and took a girl, the daughter of my Sunday school teacher to the uni for her master's programme. Fast forward to 2022, getting clients became difficult, funds starting drying up and to fund life style became a problem, he was already addicted to drugs because he needed it to stay awake while chatting with his client. In 2023 he managed to do a forced traditional wedding because he got the girl pregnant, the girl(wife) was living with him in his father's house. 2024 he became a nuisance, begging everyone on the street for because he needed it to buy drugs at some point we all started avoiding him. 2025 the wife like the prodigal son left him, took their child and returned back to her father's house, after all the father said he couldn't watch her beloved daughter die of hunger. 2026 he beat up his own father who refused to give him his land documents because he wanted to sell it so he could buy drugs. He was later tied inside his own father's house while a psychiatrist came to visit as the parents could not afford to take him to a rehab home. He later broke lose through the help of the mother and left home for good. Till now we have not heard from him. This is what it means to be an old taker.

@mavxin You mentioned FAST, do know how much a mobile ultrasound unit cost? How much a mobile x-ray unit or c-arms cost? Emergency consumables? It takes millions to stock a crash cart? Central lines etc

@Doctorfredostar I have just been brainstorming since I started ,why can’t we improve our Emergency system , tertiary level of delay is a very significant factor in Nigeria even in teaching Hospitals.

This is beyond the hospitals , if we do an undercover investigation you'll be shocked at the findings. Some of us have made the people lose trust in these donations. In addition, the people are not properly schooled on the importance of blood donation to the human race.

Nigeria is not ready for emergency and it won't be for the next couple of decades For one, emergencies don't make money. There's just no way about it, almost all emergencies run at a loss, so you just have to accept it. Secondly, emergency department is expensive to run and equipment intensive. The major thing is that massive funding is required for emergency to function and with the nonsense your citiboy government is doing, we're not ready yet.
