People are missing the point of the Newsom vs JD Vance question. It's not about committing wholeheartedly to Newsom right now, and not supporting someone different in the primaries or another candidate down the road, it's about comparing fundamental values and where you stand when it comes to the harm the Republican movement is doing in the United States. Here's the issue: 99% of the people who say they would vote for Newsom over Vance in a heartbeat would also vote for an AOC or Bernie type person over Vance as well. The same can't be said for all of the "socialist"/"communist" whatever types of people, though, when it comes to supporting any kind of liberal candidate that isn't attempting to subvert and destroy the Democratic party. These people only want to destroy the Democratic party to create a new socialist party because they do not have the political capital nor voter popularity to create their own. Even their political labels and identities seek to leech from and subvert the Democratic party: Social DEMOCRAT, DEMOCRATIC socialist, etc... Make no mistake, though, they will never, ever, ever support a candidate that can actually win in a primary or general in any meaningful place, especially not for president.
