It's called being a civilized human. It used to happen frequently, even in populated cities. Failing to understand simple pleasantries is indicative of reduced cognitive function and a lack of empathy. Someone who doesn't understand why Whites are friendly would not assimilate well into a culturally White society. They would likely clash as their values simply don't align.
