Shadow Minister for Women’s Health Jacqueline Roy noted PA is a hub for northern communities and restricting access to forensic supports is unacceptable.

The Sask NDP is calling out Health Minister Jeremy Cockrill after he claimed that sexual assault victims in Prince Albert only get forensic supports during “core hours.” In budget estimates, Cockrill confirmed that Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) services are only available during the “core hours” of 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m, despite Statistics Canada indicating that most sexual assaults take place between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.

After hearing reports TB cases in the North were kept under wraps, The Sask NDP submitted a Freedom of Information request to the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
