Before we share what we've been up to, let's talk about AI, our mission, and our vision at Peer. We believe: 1. The most important AI products will be multiplayer-first. Single-player AI plateaus. Multiplayer AI compounds. 2. AI becomes massively useful the moment it gets unboxed. Chat is confinement. A massively multiplayer platform is permission. 3. The true interface for AI is a simulation. Apps are cages. Simulations are playgrounds. 4. If AI is the mind, it needs an environment to wake up in. A mind can think anywhere. It can only learn somewhere. 5. Shared context is what finally unlocks AGI. Co-presence turns AI from a tool into something that actually understands you.

Language mirrors the structure of the physical world. Nouns are objects. Verbs are actions. Adjectives are properties. Humans understand language because we live inside the world it refers to. We see, move, grasp, and collide with real objects. Our cognition is grounded in physics. LLMs don’t have that grounding. They’re masters of linguistic form, but they don’t inhabit the world that language describes. They predict symbols without experiencing the causes behind them. They know the shape of thought, but not the world that generated it. The missing piece isn’t more tokens or bigger models, it’s a world. To make AI intelligent, useful, and relatable, you have to give it an environment to act in. A place where the verbs it outputs have consequences, nouns have bodies, and physics and time shape behavior. That world is a persistent simulation, tied to our world. Chat UI gives you a boxed mind. A simulation gives you a living intelligence that can be effective in your life AI doesn’t need more language. It needs a world.
