We were inside her room one day, when my husband entered and asked where the laundry I did was, he looked frustrated as he asked for a particular cloth which I had washed I quickly excused myself from to look for the shirt for him and when I went back to the room, my mother in law asked why I allow him talk to me like that "Enipe?" 😳 "You're doing his laundry and he still can't look for his clothes himself? What are you? A maid?" She pulled me closer and said, "see ehn, don't let him turn you to his house girl o, since I got married, I've never done his father's laundry, instead he does mine and I brought him up to be that kind of man, if he's not gon be polite and appreciate your efforts by looking for his clothes after you've washed it, let him wash and fold himself" she said That was the last time I did his laundry in that house and he has been doing mine Good mothers in law exist

I am of the opinion that when you get married as a lady, do not move into the house your husband had with him even if he built himself. The two of you should join money together to rent a place or join money to buy another house, by doing this you’re starting afresh and you two are both in your house, there will be nothing like you’re in “your husband’s house” cos that sounds like you’re a property that’s being acquired at the moment and would be disposed off later. Even in quarrel, the man has no nerve to say these words to you “leave my house” “you’ll pack your bags and go back to your father’s house” “you’re in my house so you must do whatever I say” By doing this: you both will see each other as equal human and you as the woman will be able to think right and there’s this ease that comes with knowing that you’re still in your own house.

@peterpush_23 We had a proper conversation during courtship, I told him I’ll walk away if they cut my daughter’s hair. A day to naming ceremony and I was paranoid, I’ve packed my bags 😁 hoping to leave the child for him if they cut her hair.

Back to this; this reminded me of myself when I wanted to introduce a Muslim guy to my parents. I had to pick his middle name, Olamilekan 😁 so that they won’t question him so much. Parents are always smarter sha, you can’t lie to them forever especially if you’re from a born again family.
