Such a grotesque story of modern dating. A couple of days ago I matched with a guy. He’s hot, no question. He said that he’s in town for several days so he’s looking for fun and casual. I said, no, sorry, but if you’re willing to do smth outside of sex, then let me know. He didn’t reply. Later in the day I texted him one more time saying that he seems like a nice guy still so if he’s staying a couple of days, I wouldn’t mind showing him the interesting locations around town. Again, no reply. I removed him. And a couple of hours ago I accidentally bumped into him in the street. And it felt terrible. He either didn’t recognize me or pretended not to but he just passed on his own in his AirPods and that’s it. And that’s the irony of it. What I’m struggling to understand is the maths. A career spent entirely in politics on a salary that, while substantial, was nowhere near corporate executive or founder-level wealth creation. When a politician accumulates significant personal wealth while spending their career in public office, it’s fair for people to ask how the numbers stack up. Transparency shouldn’t fear scrutiny.
