Migros und Coop als moralische Instanz: Der Fall #JoungGustav Der Fall Joung Gustav ist kein Einzelfall. Er ist ein Symptom. Ein Influencer mit Millionenpublikum, zuvor gern gesehener Markenbotschafter bei Migros, äussert sich kritisch privat zur Asylpolitik – nicht strafbar, nicht extremistisch, keine Falschinformationen. Einfach eine Meinung. Kurz darauf folgt der Rauswurf. Begründung: Seine Aussagen seien «nicht mit unserem Wertekanon vereinbar». Welcher Wertekanon? Eine klare Richtlinie zur Migrationsfrage findet sich in der öffentlichen Selbstdarstellung des Unternehmens nicht. Die Grenze bleibt vage – aber die Konsequenz ist konkret. Wenig später verschwindet auch sein Getränk aus den Coop-Regalen. Offiziell mangels Nachfrage. Zeitlich jedoch auffällig nah an der öffentlichen Kontroverse. Der Zufall wirkt bemüht. Was hier sichtbar wird, ist ein strukturelles Problem: Wenn Handelsunternehmen beginnen, politische Meinungen indirekt zu sanktionieren, verschiebt sich ihre Rolle. Sie sind nicht mehr nur Marktakteure – sie werden zu normativen politischen Instanzen. Zu moralischen Filtern. Niemand bestreitet das Recht privater Unternehmen, Kooperationen zu beenden. Die Vertragsfreiheit ist unbestritten. Doch ebenso ist die Meinungsfreiheit zu respektieren. Werden wirtschaftliche Existenzgrundlagen entzogen, weil jemand eine zulässige politische Meinung äussert, entsteht ein faktischer Konformitätsdruck. Der Markt wird dann nicht mehr nur durch Angebot und Nachfrage reguliert, sondern durch ideologische Anschlussfähigkeit. Auffällig ist zudem die Einseitigkeit. Sanktionen treffen regelmässig Positionen rechts der politischen Mitte. Engagements für Klimapolitik, SRG-Erhalt oder migrationsfreundliche Narrative hingegen gelten selten als «werteinkompatibel». Das wirft Fragen auf – nicht juristische, sondern kulturelle. Die eigentliche Botschaft an alle Beteiligten ist klar: Bestimmte Positionen kosten Reputation und Geschäft. Andere nicht. Das ist keine Inquisition. Aber es ist ein Mechanismus sozialer Disziplinierung durch wirtschaftliche Hebel. Und wer glaubt, das betreffe nur Influencer, verkennt die Dynamik. In einer hochvernetzten Öffentlichkeit reicht heute ein missliebiger Satz – und der Preis wird kalkulierbar. Die zentrale Frage lautet nicht, ob Migros und Coop das dürfen. Die Frage lautet, welche Gesellschaft entsteht, wenn wirtschaftliche Macht zur politischen Grenzziehung eingesetzt wird. Im Kontext der Schweiz als direkter Demokratie ist die Meinungsfreiheit eines der höchsten Güter. Meinung bleibt formal frei. Aber Freiheit ohne Folgenlosigkeit ist nur noch theoretisch. Und genau dort verengt sich der Korridor.
