Unhappy with our banking and political elite and their support cast who seem immune from the hardship their recklessness visited on the ordinary citizen.

Why haven't the gigantic abuses that took place in our vast mental asylum system ever attracted proper attention? Answer: they were run by the State, not the Church. (My @IrishCathNews piece this week).

“ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!” — Prince William Drops a Truth Bomb! Prince William — senior royal, humanitarian figure, and one of the most influential moral voices in modern Britain — has come out firmly backing Zia Yusuf’s blunt remark that “it’s totally unfair to expect British taxpayers to fund a food bank for the world, to spend tens and ultimately hundreds of billions on welfare for foreign nationals, and then to call them racist when they raise concerns.” How dare we ask our own people to foot the bill for a system that is crushing public services — and then shame them for daring to speak out?” But he didn’t stop there. Turning his fire toward Keir Starmer’s leadership, Prince William delivered a scathing rebuke: “Compassion is an empty slogan if it ignores the real, daily struggles of British families — and worse, if it dismisses their legitimate concerns as prejudice.” Prince William — long known for positioning himself as a fierce defender of ordinary citizens, fairness, and moral clarity — made one thing crystal clear: raising concerns is not hatred, and responsibility is not racism. “Stop punishing hardworking taxpayers. Stop the virtue-signaling. And for heaven’s sake — listen to the people who actually keep this country standing!”

@rtenews This is a mistake. I'm not sure if Harris realises: 1) the power he has to make these cuts 2) how enormous this fuel crisis is about to be

@Nick_Delehanty @rtenews Look, none of them care—especially Sinn Féin. No matter how high it goes, they will not be affected by the price increase.

Chuck Norris was a solidly pro-life actor: "We shouldn’t justify violence to humans outside the womb or inside the womb. Instead, we should esteem all human life from conception to the grave.” He will be missed.

‘How can they put us out on the street?’: Sligo retirement village residents face eviction. I wonder what the founders of the Irish state would say now that we are allowing financial entities with headquarters abroad to evict our elderly community? irishtimes.com/ireland/housin…

Folk singer Dolores Keane’s passing earlier this week came as very sad news. The internationally acclaimed singer, best known for her stunning rendition of the song Caledonia, died peacefully at her home in Co Galway.  From the Keane Family, renowned for their unique sean-nós singing and distinctive interpretations of traditional songs, she was warm-hearted and strong-willed, and open about the many challenges she faced in life. In a Sunday Independent interview some years ago, she openly recounted a very personal experience - a confrontation she had with a London doctor who advised her to abort one of her children, when it appeared the baby might not be born alive. Recalling the incident, she said: "He just looked at me and said, 'I would advise you to abort’”. Describing what happened next, she said: "So I just kicked the chair back and told him, 'You f**ker! This child is going to be born and he is going to live!' And I stormed out." Thankfully, her baby did survive, but she lamented in the interview that others in similar situations might defer too readily to the doctor’s opinion - the “voice of male authority” as she put it - and take a different course. She was a formidable, unique, and wonderful talent. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam. ❤️

@LeoVaradkar @griptmedia Ah yes, Ireland is such a safe country to live with the decisions made while you were in charge. Home affordability is in everyone's reach. Everyone has a decent standard of living. We don't have any crisis whatsoever. You're a sanctimonious cretin.

Ah here we go again - the Racist Irish Narrative™. A fine mix of codswallop and gaslighting. I moved to Ireland 23 years ago. The Irish I met were warm, welcoming, and usually more concerned that you’d had enough Barry's tea than where you came from. That good nature gets twisted into something sinister - and then exploited. Hospitality becomes “problematic,” friendliness becomes “bias,” and the same people who’d give you the coat off their back are cast as the villains. It’s an impressive trick: take a culture known for kindness and use that very kindness against it. Weaponised empathy.
