Government exists primarily to protect lives and property. Therefore, while Nigerians continue to pray for divine intervention, public officials must discharge their responsibilities with courage, commitment and urgency. The security challenges confronting Nigeria are not beyond solution. The government already possesses many of the tools required to significantly reduce insecurity if deployed effectively and consistently. These include: 1. Strengthening intelligence gathering and intelligence sharing among security agencies. 2. Deploying modern surveillance technologies, including drones, satellite monitoring and electronic intelligence systems. 3. Enhancing border security to prevent the influx of arms, ammunition and foreign fighters. 4. Increasing recruitment, training and welfare support for military and security personnel. 5. Establishing stronger collaboration between federal, state and local governments on security matters. 6. Improving community policing and intelligence networks involving traditional rulers, religious leaders and local communities. 7. Identifying, arresting and prosecuting sponsors, collaborators and financiers of terrorism, banditry and kidnapping regardless of their status. 8. Investing in youth employment, education and economic opportunities to reduce criminal recruitment. 9. Restoring confidence in affected communities through rehabilitation, reconstruction and humanitarian support. The time has come for decisive action. Enough is enough. The people of Northern Nigeria and indeed all Nigerians have endured years of banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling, terrorism, Lakurawa attacks, Boko Haram insurgency and other forms of criminal violence. Citizens deserve security. They deserve peace. They deserve a government that responds swiftly and effectively to threats against their lives and livelihoods. We therefore call on the Federal Government, State Governments and Local Government Authorities to rise above politics and immediately implement practical and measurable security solutions. The protection of human life must remain the highest priority of government at all levels. The Northern Comrades Movement of Nigeria further wishes to state that we will continue to mobilize citizens, engage stakeholders, advocate policy reforms, support lawful community initiatives and utilize every constitutional and democratic means available to demand accountability and effective action from those entrusted with the responsibility of securing our nation. We are prepared to intensify our advocacy, consultations and civic engagements until meaningful progress is achieved. Silence is no longer an option while innocent Nigerians continue to lose their lives. We stand with victims of insecurity. We stand with our gallant armed forces and security agencies. We stand with every Nigerian community affected by violence. Above all, we stand for a secure, peaceful and prosperous Nigeria. May Almighty Allah continue to protect our nation and guide our leaders toward wisdom, justice and decisive action. Thank you and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Press Statement The Obidient Movement Has No Factions: Disgruntled Opportunists Cannot Trade Our Name For Political Patronage

Today, mothers are burying their children. Children are becoming orphans. Farmers are abandoning their farms. Communities are being displaced, businesses are collapsing, travelers are afraid to move from one town to another. Yet, many of those entrusted with the responsibility of protecting Nigerians continue to speak as if this tragedy has become normal. Let me state clearly and without ambiguity: insecurity has become the greatest threat to the unity, stability and prosperity of Nigeria. Every day we hear of another village attacked, another family kidnapped, another community displaced, another security officer killed in the line of duty. These are not mere statistics, these are human beings, these are fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers and sisters whose lives have been cut short by criminals who appear to be operating with increasing boldness. We have lost brave military officers, experienced commanders and courageous soldiers who dedicated decades of their lives to defending this country, their sacrifices must not be in vain. To President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all elected leaders across Nigeria, we say respectfully but firmly: the time for promises has passed; the time for action is now. Nigerians are tired of condolences without solutions. Nigerians are tired of visiting attack sites after lives have already been lost. Nigerians are tired of hearing that security challenges are being addressed while communities continue to suffer repeated attacks. The government must demonstrate the same level of urgency it would demonstrate if these attacks were happening in the nation's highest corridors of power. We acknowledge the efforts of our armed forces, police, intelligence agencies and other security personnel. Many of them are risking their lives daily under difficult circumstances. However, those responsible for policy formulation and implementation must provide the leadership, resources, intelligence support and political will required to defeat these enemies of our nation. To those who say only God can solve Nigeria's insecurity, we say this: God has given leaders authority, resources, institutions and responsibilities. Prayer must be accompanied by action. Faith must be accompanied by commitment. Leadership must be accompanied by results. The insecurity confronting Nigeria is not insurmountable. Other nations have faced similar challenges and overcome them through strong political will, effective intelligence gathering, advanced technology, proper coordination among security agencies, protection of borders and the prosecution of criminal sponsors regardless of their influence. This was reinforced by the fact that many Nigerians playing for clubs worldwide are representing other countries. Felix Nmecha, for instance, set a record by scoring the fastest goal at six minutes for Germany. I write to you therefore, knowing that this country belongs to you, the youth. You are more of stakeholders in Nigeria’s future than I am. I am 64 years old; by God’s grace, much of my journey is behind me, while yours lies ahead. It is therefore imperative that you rise to the challenge by obtaining your PVC, your most powerful tool for driving the change you desire. In the last three years alone, over 15 million Nigerians have turned 18—enough to decide who becomes President, Governor, Senator, Member of the House, or Local Government Chairman. Indeed, enough to shape the nation’s future. I know many of you are sceptical about politics and political parties. I understand why, but scepticism must not become surrender. You do not need to belong to any party or wait for anyone to organise you. Organise yourselves in your streets, campuses, communities, workplaces, churches, mosques, and social groups. Mobilise, debate, demand accountability, and take part in choosing those you wish to entrust with leadership. If you are organised and wish to hear directly from me, invite me. I will come and share my plans for you and our nation. Do not sit on the sidelines while others decide your future. I appeal to you to register and vote. Esther has done an incredible job mobilizing and inspiring young people from different backgrounds to participate in the PVC registration exercise.
