@SankofaMarxist Is it liberalism or the subconscious knowledge that arguing in-depth on twitter is a massive waste of time?

@springbrease @NordickChad Someone has to fight the West and you've proven that the only thing you will fight for is to bomb brown children because they're evil "Islamists" if they don't abandon their faith and culture.
English

@secondposition @NordickChad I have spoken to enough of you to understand that you see Muslims, even rabid islamists like the Taliban as potential allies against the west.

>a Marxist who praises the Iranian morality police
Kraut@The_Davos_Man
Marxists who praise foreign tyrants do so because they want to put on the boots of tyranny to stomp on your neck at home. It isn't solidarity, it is a sadistic power fantasy. A Marxist who praises the Iranian morality police simply craves the power to be the morality police.

@springbrease @NordickChad Where are these "Islamist" allies? I think you're just coping, because you don't know anything about Russia, the Russian revolution or the Bolsheviks beyond anti-communist jibber.
English

@secondposition @NordickChad Oh no I think you are. Because I assume you don't want to upset your islamist allies
English

@springbrease @NordickChad What was forced upon the people that was not already there? Do you think there was no genuine popular discontent from the people toward their completely hypocritical religious institutions that preached Christianity and simultaneously supported the Tsar and World War?
English

@secondposition @NordickChad Based on your own words on how you believed they forced some cultural changes, it sounds like they were.
English

@springbrease @NordickChad The compromise they came to was a sobering up to the reality they were living in, a reality created before them and not a sandbox in which to inflict their every whim on the population.
English

@secondposition @NordickChad There was a vendetta for sure, but the compromise was meant to temporarily appease the current generations while making sure the following ones grow up disconnected from it
English

@springbrease @NordickChad Communists aren't liquidationists and anarchists who wish to impose themselves upon reality and create society from scratch.
English

@secondposition @NordickChad There are ways to do that in Just a few generations, but I am sure you don't have the stomach for them
English

@springbrease @NordickChad I agree that it is a coping mechanism against an unjust world, but for him it wasn't about the destruction of religion but the advancement of humanity beyond it.
One can't think religion will disappear anytime soon, as the reason for its existence hasn't either.
English

@secondposition @NordickChad This is simply cherry picking. Because as much as Marx admitted that religion was a coping mechanism which was useful to humans up to a point, he definitely saw it becoming more and more obsolete
English

@springbrease @NordickChad To the extent that religion was persectuted, it wasn't because of some vendetta against religion on the Bolsheviks part, but because the Church itself was a deeply reactionary institution connected to the feudal and Tsarist order.
The Church was later reinstated in the USSR.
English

@secondposition @NordickChad My dude, the establishing principles were that religion was people's opium. Whether you agree or not has nothing to do with the fact that this was the goal of the soviet leadership then, that's why they destroyed churches and burned religious books.
