Just a warning, my account is gonna become an owl fan page for the next few days. A few of 18 Eurasian Pygmy Owls we caught up with in Estonia over 4 full days. Warm weather meant birds were very active, and so fearless too. My highlight of the trip.

@Marclinby I can remember spending a couple of weeks there around 1999 we ate on the river boat … I can remember watching them wash the pots in the river .,.,!!!

Really pleasing today to be working at a site on the Trent in Notts and to see not 1, but 2, Lesser Peckers ..... been a few years since my last! I was also pleased that I was 'anticipating' it as the habitat looked good.
