I like to have Claude write tests. I tell it to only do 1 test so we can work on a good structure. Then I have it do another. Then maybe one more, reviewing each diff and simplifying the tests. Then I give a list of all the other test cases and ask it to think of any I miss.

I wrote my own database backup script using Open3.pipeline from the ruby standard library. statuses = Open3.pipeline( dump, compress, encrypt, upload ) Each of those variables is an array of string arguments for the respective CLI tools. Simple.

How do you Rails devs backup your database?

A command line tool should either have no output, or a ton of output.

Reddit is so hard. I go to great lengths to rid my post of self-promotion, post it, gets 18K views, 15 upvotes, top post of the day. Then all my competitors pitch their own budget app in the comments. Zero traffic to my site. God help me.

@_avdept I am. I'm on day 2. Seems faster than claude. And cheaper. I don't like that I can't review each diff though. It's either "build mode" or "plan mode" in opencode as far as I can tell.
