Buster Crabbe's Buck Rogers serial is not as well remembered as his turns as Flash Gordon; first movie serial I saw (in the dead of night on WOR channel 9 when I was in grade school). Lots of art deco sets and Crabbe is excellent. Better than Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe!

Even after the death of its author, "Bullshit Jobs" remains a cancer on the discourse. It was perhaps the most incurious book I have ever read (strictly speaking, I only read the first third).
Companies are not "subsidizing" anyone. If they are hiring someone to do something, there is almost certainly a reason beyond "we wanted to give this random person money." If you can't figure out why, it is probably a problem with you.

Rodney King benefited from the narrative that the media put out there, playing down the hi-speed chase and his attack to give the impression his beat down was an unprovoked attack. His he was injured. After threatening other people’s lives, he lived.

Because an aggressive jerk is just that, an aggressive jerk, not toxic masculinity - as if one person’s action is poison caused by being poisoned by masculinity. It’s a phrase coined by activists.
A woman can be an aggressive jerk and it nothing to do with her femininity. Two things being mutually exclusive.

Misandry exists in feminism, for sure. It’s policed and by feminists, but a lot of people treat it like a broken step - they know it’s right there, but they step over it. Ignore it. Then “toxic masculinity” marches through culture unchallenged, and hurtful to boys because they don’t understand it.
Feminism isn’t love, it’s a hammer.

Whenever someone asks, "Why do you care if White people become a minority. Is it hard to be a minority?" They miss a key point.
In modern times, White people bend over backward to accommodate minorities. We create special programs specifically for minority groups. We've given them jobs over more qualified White people simply because they are minorities.
When White people become a minority, the majority group begins to target White people. It starts with campaigns of dehumanization, then trying to take land and jobs from White people. Suddenly, after their dehumanization of White people, killing them becomes widely accepted. They were made the villain and made to seem less than human.
This is why becoming a minority for White people is an awful prospect. We simply can't expect benevolence from the majority. Only subjugation and murder.

@emzanotti The marriage of Luke and Mara was major plot point in the Thrawn trilogy and Lucas gave direct approval for it.
