Prequel revisionism is so silly. George Lucas didn't predict trade disputes, and even if he did it wouldn't make the movie good. And on top of all that the complaint about the politics in TPM has always been that its boring, not that its inaccurate.

If I ever had the luxury to write a Poison Ivy story, I’d write her as a Shakespearean tragic hero, where her misandrist streak, recklessness, impulsivity and inability to trust people (even those she loves) causes her to suffer terrible and tragic consequences.
