After an orange truck broke down in South Africa, a family of wild elephants strolled up and decided to help themselves to some oranges. Elephants have the strongest sense of smell in the animal kingdom and can detect water from over 10 miles away, so it's likely they smelled these oranges and chose to make their way over. Elephants also communicate with each other through their feet from miles away, so the elephants you see toward the end could actually be from another family who were informed of the bounty.

Think of all the conductors we know who just….need therapy, and aren’t in it. I wonder how the abusive dynamics would shift if these people got actual, consistent mental health support.

When I lost my Mom last year, I had to leave for a contract 6 weeks later and therefore had to take a 2 month break from grief counseling at a time when that was actually dangerous for me…but I really didn’t have a choice financially. I had to go.

I think a lot about how in the US we know for a fact that gigging musicians are not in regular therapy – state licenses mean that therapists cannot continue to counsel you when you are out of state…an industry that really needs mental health support is locked out at the start
