Where are you from, where did you graduate, and what are your preferences? - I originally came from the South West of England. After finishing my degree in surveying, I became a property investor and developer. In 2009, I sold most my properties and spent six years travelling (my passion) and living in South America. How did you learn about Web3? What was your first experience? - In 2016, a few Gold/Silver investor friends started to purchase Bitcoin and a few altcoins to diversify their portfolio. They created a chatroom where we began to learn and discuss crypto. How did you dive into NFTs and communities? Which community was the first one you engaged with? - I was conducting research on NFTs for my web3 resource directory, spendingcrypto , and decided to grab a few small plots of land (NFTs) in a Metaverse. Later, with ETH becoming too pricey to use, I started exploring alternative NFT chains. That's when I discovered the fun and viabrant Solana NFT community, and the transaction fees on SOL were just too attractive to overlook. I bought a CET early on and was part of the 313 manic community and also joined the DeGod community. Can you tell me more about your first significant profit in minting or flipping, and how it occurred? - Back in 2017 my mentor told me to buy BNB. At the time it could be used to reduce trading fee costs on the Binance Exchange. I bought BNB at 55 cents. Let's dive deeper into NFTs. Can you tell me about your first successful case? This could include joining a valuable community or experiencing other benefits. - My first major success in NFTs was when I joined the CETs 313 community. It changed everything for me. I started to talk to other people about NFTs, and the vibe was, as many will remember, electric! I learned so much from the community and it made NFT investing fun. I am still friends with many from that community to this day. You are lucky to find the right people! I see you are one of the co-founders of @MagFomo. Can you tell me more about this? - I feel incredibly lucky to have met such great people in web3. I went to my first Hacker House (London) to meet up with the UK DeGods (they were on Solana at the time) community. It was a fantastic event, and it was during this gathering that I had the pleasure of encountering two of FOMO's future co-founders, namely Jay and Slice (also known as the renowned "worm"). Just a few weeks after our initial meeting, our conversations veered towards the idea of launching a Solana-focused business. We settled on the concept of a hybrid physical and digital magazine, aimed at showcasing the diverse Solana ecosystem and the projects flourishing even during challenging times. Can you tell me what your final goal for the magazine is? Perhaps you'll be able to share some details about exclusive upcoming collaborations? - Our goal this year is to help showcase projects building in the Solana ecosystem. This year, we will have an xNFT version of our magazine so our readers can access FOMO magazine as an NFT. We are definitely looking to be able to offer our readers exclusive giveaways and more. From the last time we spoke, market conditions have changed. Can you tell me more about your first successful cases during the first bull waves? Has your focus shifted in any way? - The early moves we have seen in crypto over the past four months has made it easy to spot the main bull run trends (niches) to come. I hold multiple positions in all of these niches. The main four are: Ai, Gaming, Layer one's (including zero knowledge) and layer two's (potential ETH/SOL killers), and Gambling. Is @MagFomo a profitable business or just a hobby? Are you full-time in Web3? - FOMO was built during the bear market and when people faded Solana. For the first year, we were not profitable due to us having to initially fund the magazine ourselves and pay for our flights and accommodation to all the hacker houses. However, hard work paid off and we are now profitable. We have decided to not take any profits from the business for 2024 and instead to put funds back into the business to help it grow. You did a great job with Fomo magazine. Can you give any tips on growing Twitter? - It has taken us a while to build our Twitter following. Spaces can help gain followers. Giveaways of course. If you give away a popular NFT with an active community, you can gain a lot of followers quickly. Consistent posting and ensuring the tweet is short and to the point. Your aim is to give value to your audience. What inspires you to build, create, and stay here? Are there any specific teams, projects, or factors that motivate you? - During the bear market, FOMO travelled the world interviewing all the Solana projects. What impressed us was how many people turned up to the Hacker Houses and these projects not only remained bullish, but they were working hard. This inspired us stay focused and keep building too.
