Instead of owning what happened, they start rewriting the story so they can feel better about how they moved. I used to waste time trying to explain myself and clear things up until I realized people already know the truth. Some people just don’t want to face it. Once I understood that, I stopped defending myself and started paying attention. If somebody has to make me the villain to avoid accountability, that already told me everything I needed to know.
