Pete Hegseth is wildly incompetent – he’s blindly carrying out Donald Trump’s unauthorized war in Iran that endangers the lives of our troops, our national security, and our standing in the world. From SignalGate to this reckless escalation, it is clear he is unfit to serve as Secretary of Defense. It’s time for Pete Hegseth to resign – or we will remove him from office.

BREAKING: YES! Democrats introduce FIVE articles of impeachment against war criminal Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in a sweeping new push to hold him accountable for his atrocities. First we impeach him, then we prosecute him, then we imprison him... The charges are damning and any single one in a vacuum would require that Hegseth be immediately removed from power. Taken together, they paint a picture of a "Secretary of War" who is utterly criminal, completely out of control, and who poses a real danger to the safety of the American people. The impeachment proceedings were introduced by Representative Yassamin Ansari, the first Iranian-American ever elected to Congress. The articles are: 1 ) "Unauthorized war against Iran and reckless endangerment of United States service members" 2 ) "Violations of the Law of Armed Conflict and targeting of civilians" 3) "Negligence and Reckless handling of sensitive military information" 4 ) "Obstruction of Congressional Oversight" 5) "Conduct bringing disrepute upon the United States and its armed forces" 1 and 2 outline Hegseth's inexcusable behavior in starting this pointless, illegal Iran War for Donald Trump, and specifically reference the horrific bombing of a school in Minab, Iran that killed 156 people. 2 also mentions his murderous strikes on boats in the Caribbean that were supposedly carrying drugs from Venezuela. 3 focuses on SignalGate, the stunning lapse in digital security that dominated the headlines during the early days of Hegseth's tenure but which gradually faded as more, even more egregious incidents accumulated. 4 accuses Hegseth of failing to "provide timely and complete information regarding military operations" to Congress and of "withholding material facts relating to civilian casualties and operational conduct in Iran, Venezuela, and other military theaters." 5 goes into Hegseth's fixation on deranged partisan policies like "anti-DEI" initiatives, his attacks on affirmative action, targeting of transgender service members, and his Kremlin-tinged criticisms of NATO. And while this impeachment attempt has little chance of succeeding due to Republican control of Congress, the previous pushes to impeach Kristi Noem and Pam Bondi ultimately resulted in Trump firing both of them. By turning up the heat on Hegseth, we might accomplish the same thing. At the very least, these articles of impeachment set the stage for when Democrats retake the House and senate in the midterms, at which point we can bury him under subpoenas and fight to remove him in earnest. Ansari: I filed articles of impeachment against Hegseth today. He did not follow his oath to the Constitution. He committed a war crime in Iran with the attack on a school that killed over 160 children. We need to prosecute anyone who committed war crimes.
