If I gave EVERYONE on Earth $1,000,000 - this is what would happen: The immediate effect would be a massive influx of currency into the global economy. This would likely lead to hyperinflation, as the value of money would decrease due to its sudden abundance. Prices for goods and services would skyrocket because there would be so much more money in circulation relative to the actual goods and services available. As a result, even though everyone would have more nominal money, its purchasing power would be severely diminished. In other words, while the numbers in people's bank accounts would be higher, the actual value of that money in terms of what it can buy would be much less. So, in terms of real wealth or purchasing power, nobody would be richer, and many could end up worse off due to the economic disruptions. So in other words, we are better off if I don’t do that.
