Hadn't actually watched this until now. Just saw a ton of the usual types freaking out about it. Assumed it was just generic statements about needing to tax corps more, wealth tax etc. But its a tax on SECOND homes OVER $5M and that's what all these people think is Stalin 2.0???

i hate to say it but a 1% tax on property over $5m you don’t live in is hard to argue against for the average voter
like, the solution is simply “actually live in NYC”, “what are you so broke you can’t afford 1%?”, and “well you could just leave NYC”
all are ego hits none of these property owners don’t wanna take and have a hard time refuting
love or hate him, he’s actually doing something vs most mayors and tells you in the slickest way possible

It was utterly shocking to see Nigel Farage bulldoze into Shetland and immediately start picking fights with local people. A disabled pensioner was unable to access a space he needed, and when he challenged it, he was met with heavy-handed behaviour from Farage’s entourage. After a bad reception in town, it looks like they were more focused on making a quick getaway than showing basic respect and decency. People will see this as exactly the kind of behaviour that Reform represent and which should have no place in Shetland, Scotland or anywhere.
