For those wondering why we Iranians do not support the Islamic Republic’s football team, it’s because not only they’re happy to surrender to the regime, but they also constantly insult Iranians who fly the Lion and Sun flag and ask for freedom. That’s why I supported Belgium today, even though the IRGC team better than expected. Do not legitimise this regime. Sardar Azmoun, one of the top Iranian players, was purged off the national team by the IRGC, and is currently having his assets stolen for daring to challenge the islamic regime. Two other Iranian players were also taken off the team by the IRGC over politics. This is why calling them Team IRGC is simply factual, because the IRGC is fully in charge whether they like it or not.

For saying these words, he was kicked off the team. Today, he sits in an Islamic Republic prison. Not once did the players of the Islamic Republic’s national team dare to even mention his name.

Why do @FIFAWorldCup and the free press bend over backwards to protect the Islamic Republic? The fact that cameras at the World Cup purposely cut off the shots of Iran fans to exclude their Lion and Sun flags is baffling. We should not have to convince anyone to care about the horrors this regime has inflicted on innocent Iranians for decades.
