🚨 During half time of the second leg against Atletico, Joan Laporta went over to UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin and other officials to complain about the unfair refereeing in both legs. Laporta was very angry, but they calmed him down claiming they would review the plays after the game. — @mundodeportivo

Oyo State Government
Oyo State Government@oyostategovt·
PRESS RELEASE OYO STATE GOVERNMENT CONFIRMS LASSA FEVER CASE, ACTIVATES EMERGENCY RESPONSE The Oyo State Government has confirmed a Lassa Fever case at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan. The case involved a 44-year-old female who was managed at UCH and unfortunately passed away on 11 April 2026, while the Laboratory confirmation of Lassa Fever was received on 13 April 2026. In a statement by the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, the State Government, through the Ministry of Health, immediately activated its emergency response mechanisms following the confirmation of the case, adding that the Incident Management System (IMS) for Lassa Fever would coordinate all response activities. The Commissioner explained that key steps have been taken to identify and monitor all contacts of the deceased, ensuring that a safe and dignified burial is conducted. Dr Ajetunmobi urged residents to seek immediate medical attention if they experience any symptoms such as persistent fever, weakness or extreme fatigue, sore throat, vomiting or diarrhoea, unexplained bleeding (from gums, nose, urine, or injection sites), chest pain or difficulty in breathing, emphasising that early presentation at any health facility will significantly improve chances of survival. The Commissioner further explained that Lassa Fever is a viral haemorrhagic illness caused by the Lassa virus, which is primarily transmitted through contact with food or household items contaminated by urine or faeces of infected rodents. She stressed that it can spread from person to person through contact with bodily fluids of an infected individual, particularly in healthcare settings where appropriate precautions are not taken. Speaking further, the Honourable Commissioner advised residents to maintain a high level of environmental hygiene by keeping their homes and surroundings clean, storing food in rodent-proof containers, disposing of waste properly, and avoiding drying of food items on the ground or by the roadside. She said, "They should take deliberate steps to avoid contact with rodents by sealing holes and other entry points in their homes" "Good personal hygiene must be practised at all times, including regular hand washing with soap and water, and the use of hand sanitisers where necessary." "Furthermore, anyone experiencing symptoms of Lassa Fever is advised to promptly report through the designated emergency lines: 0803 374 2052 and 0802 524 5809, while all health workers are enjoined to strictly adhere to infection prevention and control protocols at all times.” The Commissioner reiterated that the Oyo State Government remains fully committed to protecting the health and safety of all residents. She noted that surveillance has been intensified across the State, and all health facilities have been placed on high alert. Consequently, the Government is strengthening collaboration with relevant stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and effective response. The Commissioner said that residents are hereby assured that there is no cause for panic and the situation is under control All necessary public health measures are being effectively implemented. She said, "Lassa Fever is preventable and treatable, especially when detected early". E-Signed: Prince Dotun Oyelade Hon. Commissioner for Information, Oyo State.

I find it interesting that Atiku now wants to make presidential rotation a constitutional law because his actions have shown he doesn't respect zoning or believe in it unless it favors him. In 2011, when PDP had a zoning arrangement to rotate power he still contested against it. In 2023, when many Nigerians demanded power shift to the South after 8 years of Buhari he still ran as a Northern candidate, deepening the crisis in his own party. And even today, everyone knows it's the turn of the south, yet he wants to run so that he can come and implement zoning. Make it make sense. For Atiku zoning isn't a principle, it is just a strategy when it’s convenient. That's the reason he ignores zoning when it blocks his ambition, then turn around and want to constitutionalize it when it benefits him. Nigeria doesn’t have a shortage of promises. We have a shortage of consistency. Action speaks louder than words.

Let me be clear: the ADC can not win the South East, South-West, and South-South if it fields a northern presidential candidate. And for those who will say a Southern candidate can not win in the North, here is why: The new generation of emerging power brokers in the North (they are very strategic in my view) will rather see off a 4-year southern presidency to prepare one of them to replace either Peter Obi (who has given a firm commitment to do only one term) or endure another 4 years of torment under Tinubu. This political power bloc in the North is not stupid enough to support a northern candidate at this time. Atiku Abubakar knows this. If he decides to forge ahead and rock the boat, history will not be kind to him.

Atiku sounds arrogant, but that's not the problem with his Arise TV interview. It's the fact that he literally scored own-goals. -He wants Nigerians to vote out APC if they want their future, the same APC he went above and beyond to promote, just because he wanted Jonathan out of office. He created the problem then lost control. -He claims that Jonathan was inexperienced which attributed to his failure to manage the affairs of the country, forgetting that the affairs of the country was manageable until he and other people in power pushed APC into Aso Rock. -Atiku claims to represent both the past and the furure. His past is questionable, let's not forget his silence on religious intolerance, and his future in teaming up with the same people he heavily criticized. And that kwankwaso comparison was not needed, for someone who is claiming to build an allegiance, you don't mock your team members. He lacks leadership qualities.

When Peter Obi left PDP, it's journey to coma started. Today it is comatose. The joined Labour party and took them out of coma and they became the party everyone talked about. When he left Labour party, they went back to coma. He is at ADC now and all people are talking about is the ADC. At each of these parties, he was forced out and they never recovered. Only a fool would ignore history. ADC, don't be foolish.

Both Peter Obi & Kwankwaso have stood in national elections on the strength of their personalities and charisma. Atiku has always leveraged established parties' networks. He has no personal connection with voters. In some sense, AA is a lighter weight than each of these two.
