Steven Universe Future wasn't perfect but the buildup to Steven's declining mental state is so artistically terrifying. He was born into a world where he needed to achieve a happy ending, and he made it happen.
But then the story kept going.

god the way the episode ends with this scene is so unsettling… how steven starts to dissociate as he realizes that his own father doesn’t actually realize what he’s going through… my poor boy :((
