After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.
I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC.

🚨🇺🇸 GULF STATES CONSIDERING PULLING INVESTMENTS FROM U.S. OVER IRAN WAR
Three of the four major Gulf economies are jointly reviewing whether to invoke force majeure clauses in contracts, cancel investment commitments, and sell holdings to ease financial strain from a war they never wanted.
Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar pledged hundreds of billions in U.S. investments after Trump visited the region.
Now they're getting hit by Iranian missiles while their oil can't ship through Hormuz.
Qatar declared force majeure after a drone attack shut down its main LNG plant.
A major Saudi refinery was struck.
A Gulf official to the FT:
"A number of Gulf countries have begun an internal review to determine whether force majeure clauses can be invoked in current contracts."
An adviser said the prospect of an investment review has already caught the White House's attention.
Emirati businessman Khalaf al-Habtoor on X:
"A direct question: Who gave you the authority to drag our region into a war with Iran? Did you calculate the collateral damage before pulling the trigger?"
Trump wanted their money for Gaza reconstruction and his Board of Peace.
