Looking down from Edinburgh Castle, you can catch a glimpse of The Gardener’s Cottage nestled quietly among the trees of Princes Street Gardens. 🌿 The cottage originally served as the home of the head gardener responsible for maintaining the park. The National Galleries of Scotland after dark are just as beautiful as the masterpieces inside. 🌙✨ The building was designed by William Henry Playfair and opened its doors in 1859. Echoing the form of a medieval cathedral, the Millennium Clock was constructed in 1999 and now stands within the heart of National Museums Scotland. Over 10 metres tall and made from wood, metal and glass, the timepiece contains fragments of the story of the millennium.
