@emilybazelon I agree that a lot of DHS officials like to make this point about Biden’s policies, but as so many of the powerful testimonials you included make clear, what is happening at the agency is more extreme than a pendulum swing between administrations.

Some of these quotes helped clarify what’s happening now, but featuring senior Biden White House advisors on asylum policy & suggesting Biden ever tried to pass his day-one immigration bill in Congress, detracts from the story of how D.H.S. has radically changed under Trump.
