Football began in the 19th century as local firms' and military units' teams. Then it became more organised and leagues developed.
The best time to see it was pre 1960s; huge crowds, local lads and no big money. Most players had a job. I envy my dad seeing the 1950s Wolves team.

The reaction to both the Cass Report and banning of puberty blockers for children is precisely the sort of hysterical thrashing rage that you can usually expect when a belief system or religion feels threatened. This is not a normal reaction to scientific study or healthcare.

This will be a photo taken in a moment which captured life in motion: the walkers walking, the pram-pushers pushing - daily life in Halifax 70 or so years ago. It became a picture postcard which will have dropped through many a letter box, bearing news of arrivals and departures and those careless details of everyday life. Now it is history: proof that flowers once bloomed in George Street, that Huddersfield had a Building Society, and that curtains once hung on Commercial Street. The life-cycle of a postcard.

As a psychologist, I cannot tell you how SICK I am of seeing case studies, adverts and social media posts that describe women and girls as having ‘mental disorders’, and then citing ‘symptoms’ such as, ‘piles of laundry, messy kitchen, piles of dishes, an untidy house’
I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen this in a list of ‘symptoms’ for men.
