Dear Soldiers,
After many tries and pivots, we are shutting down operations.
We’re proud of what we achieved together: from early GPT Wars playtests and community experiments - taking the game to over 100,000 players - to launching a prediction markets agent in Virtuals with GPTWAI. Your enthusiasm and conviction pushed us to the top of conversations more than once and opened doors to new partners, growth, and a deeper sense of working toward something bigger than us. This is not the outcome we hoped for, but it’s the responsible one.
Most of all, we’re grateful to our team and community, who supported us along the way and never doubted our vision. We’re sad to let this go, but remain hopeful about the future. Here’s why this is not the end:
So, what happens next?
• The full GPT Wars game will be open-sourced on GitHub; community assets and documentation will be released alongside it.
• Any studio interested in continuing GPT Wars is welcome to build on the IP under the open-source license - DM us if you need materials.
• As promised, $GPTW holders will receive an airdrop of $GPTWAI in the coming days, honoring our commitment and marking the end of this chapter.
• GPTWAI services will be sunset, and this account will share final housekeeping updates (including the airdrop details) before becoming inactive.
A word from the founder: I’ll keep GPT Wars and GPTWAI close to my heart. I’m grateful to everyone who walked with us, and I’ll gladly remember those who supported us along the way. Feel free to DM me - I’d love to hear how you got involved in our project. I can’t say how the future will play out, but I want each of you to be part of any success that comes next, just as you have been part of our failures.
