Funded by the @NIHRresearch, this research will explore whether earlier treatment with a stent, rather than medication alone, could support better healing of the aorta and reduce future complications. Around 1,100 people in the UK are diagnosed with a type B aortic dissection each year. Most are treated with medication and monitored regularly, rather than undergoing surgery straight away.
