@HitherGreenLab councillors have been working with residents relating to ASB near the hostel since autumn 2024, bringing the police, the Council and St Mungos’ management for open dialogue and using the Safer Neighbourhoods Panel twice as a further point of scrutiny.

There will be incoming neighbourhood patrols within parts of the Hither Green as part of the council’s effort to limit ASB around the St. Mungos hostel. Sign up here to receive further updates from the council: forms.office.com/Pages/Response…

We know that flytipping is an issue in Hither Green, so yesterday @JanetDaby & @HitherGreenLab MP Janet Daby held a community clean up on the green space on Stainton Road. We’re grateful to the community who came out and gave their time to make the area tidy.

@HitherGreenLab have been all over Hither Green over the past few weeks. We’ve been speaking to residents on Hazelbank Road, Springbank Road, Beacon Road, Hafton Road and many more. If you missed us, just drop us an email.

Good reception for @HitherGreenLab last night, in Knowles Hill Crescent, where we continue working closely with residents on fly-tipping & ASB issues, including getting big camera & upcoming improved block security & community planter project for all.

@HitherGreenLab were out twice in the rain & cold this week, talking again to residents on Rycroft & Courthill roads, where our previous community skip/clean-up project got all parts of the street working & planning together in the fight for cleaner streets & better green spaces

I am proud that Lewisham has been chosen to help launch the @MayorofLondon’s Family Financial Resilience Partnership at our Deptford Family Hub. By working with trusted partners such as Citizens Advice Lewisham and Southwark Law Centre, we are making it easier for families to access housing, employment and financial advice in places they already know and trust. It is about standing alongside families, easing financial pressure and helping them feel more secure about their future.

It was an honour to be at the New Cross Fire memorial service, remembering the young lives that were lost tragically 45 years ago. Anniversaries as such remind us of the progress we’ve made towards social cohesion, but also reminds us to not regress into a divisive society.

Yesterday marked the 45th anniversary of the New Cross Fire. We remembered the fourteen young Black lives lost and stood with their families, survivors and community in remembrance, reflection and unity. “You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice.” - Bob Marley Their legacy lives on in #Lewisham and beyond.

It was great to be at the Thai Pongal Vizha and Ozhi Vizha celebrations last weekend. It’s great to have the Tamil community contribute to the rich culture and arts scene here in Lewisham
