Within this process it is then part of their procedure to arrest and deport all illegals they encounter along the way to the prime suspect they are going after. The most common two critiques are: - This is optically bad to intentionally make mass deportations unteneble politically to kill the initiative entirely - This is innefective and isn't resulting in enough deportations with the typical "Obama deported more without all this drama" These fall flat on their face with the most basic analysis. - The BBB locked in a committed 75B in funding making DHS/ICE one of the most well funded programs in the US, this funding, mass hiring of agents, and arrests will continue largely unimpeded because of this budget and supremacy of federal law enforcement in states. The implication here is that we would massively expand ICE as a department, add over 12,000 deportation officers, just to have the program shut down by CNN opinion polls in under a year. Nonsensical - Obama's numbers were largely fake, in deportation enforcement there are "turnarounds" and "interior removals." Previously border turnarounds included when someone crossed the border illegally, were still near the border, and then were picked up and shipped back over. His administration changed the filing metric so that these turnarounds counted as "interior removals." If you counted the amount of people denied at the border by the Trump admin as "interior deportations" as Obama did then the numbers would be astronomically high. The only other way to do these deportation searches more "efficiently" as panicans have been putting it is to essentially do block searches where entire areas are isolated by an enforced perimter and ICE goes building by building doing mass arests. This wouldn't be any more "optically" palpable than what is being done now. This is becoming the online RW version of a person complaining that a police officer didn't just "shoot him in the leg" instead of mag dumping to neutralize the threat. FURTHERMORE the doomer posting about polling numbers is silly because polls have largely been proven to be innacurate ever since 2016. They aren't measuring public opinion but trying to influence it through concensus. Frankly the only thing people should be chanting right now is for MORE DEPORTATIONS EVERYWHERE, not cucking on optics. Dems already spent the last 4 years going after grandmas, shit posters, and admin staff. They aren't going to stop because suddenly ICE decided to respect optics cucking.
