Last Saturday, we were informed that the state would be responsible for our protection, and we were prohibited from bringing our firearms as they had taken control of our security. Later that night, an assassin stormed the event, exposing the significant security lapses. However, something extraordinary occurred that night that I can’t shake off. The goalpost shifted. Chauvin also never had his knee on Floyds neck and the State never made that case during the trial. It was a bad camera angle. The state argued pressure to Georges back caused cardiac arrest. The whole narrative around this case was a giant lie.

This is what killed Floyd. He took 2 drugs you should never take together and it imploded his heart while suppressing his breathing at the same time.

This is all the more shocking given the amendments the Rules Committee is allowing on the farm bill. It's allowing votes on 57 amendments, including on random topics like composting and allowing greyhound racing in WV. Many of those amendments have just one sponsor, where the amendment to strip the SOB Act had more than 18 (and could have gotten many more). The problem is not a lack of time to debate the amendment. It's that the pork industry thought it lacked the votes to win. This is the very worst of how our politics works. The pork industry doesn't have to risk a loss, and its paid-for politicians don't have to go on the record defending this cruelty.

6:04 pm, The storms appear to be weakening. In fact, they appear to be below severe levels as they're coming in to Middle Tennessee. Not letting our guard down yet, but this is a good sign. Wouldn't be surprised to get some gusty winds on the back side of the rain though.

This is shocking: the House Rules Committee just blocked a vote on stripping the Save Our Bacon Act from the farm bill. The SOB Act, buried deep in the farm bill, would wipe out state bans on pork from crated pigs, condemning millions to a lifetime in gestation crates. We were getting very close to having the votes to pass Rep. Luna’s bipartisan amendment to strip the SOB Act from the bill on the floor of the House. Then pork industry lobbyists got to work. Behind closed doors, they got Rules Committee leadership to stop a vote entirely and protect the SOB Act from the scrutiny it can’t survive. The only option now is to kill the whole rotten farm bill. To elaborate even further, the line of storms is generally weakening, but still plenty of storm fuel out there to keep these things robust. It's April after all, so we don't let our guard down on incoming storms. Hail possible, but odds are you won't see any. Tornado parameters not as favorable as last night, but we'll be pay attention anyway. Additional storms later tonight should be sub-severe.
