I’m with Bernie on this. We should not have open borders. People shouldn’t be seen as right wing just because they believe in securing a border & stopping illegal immigration. We should also streamline legal immigration so more can come legally & less end up as illegally here.

So many people crying about inflation now who say it has to do with our debt had nothing to say when Trump increased the US debt by 33% by slashing taxes for the rich and large multinational corporations. Heck many on the right now upset by debt were celebrating those cuts.

No, they come from the recognition of them as a right from fellow human beings. 🤦‍♂️ Also “god” wouldn’t exist without human beings also recognizing it.

I’m really annoyed at how much time in-person interviews waste. Person is over an hour late and I had to cover commute costs. Wouldn’t be an issue right now if they simply did this over video call…

I hate going to a job interview and being told at the interview that the conditions of the job are different from what I applied for. If hours or pay of the job are radically different from what you have on a listing or give to recruiters then fuck you for wasting people’s time!

Jobs that are commission-only positions should have to list their salaries on job boards as $0. If they want to include more compensation projections or structure it should be included in the position’s description. If your job doesn’t guarantee pay, then it should list at $0.

How large should “Universal Basic Income” be in the United States of America? $0/month? (Current) $1000/month? $2000/month? What is the least #UBI you’d be willing to accept in a proposal? What is the largest UBI you’d accept? Finally, what is your target amount?

Another reminder that UBI wouldn’t do this. UBI doesn’t stigmatize people and tell them they can’t have hot food. UBI provides economic freedom. We should tax the rich and consolidate means-tested welfare programs into new universal programs like a UBI.

I just wanted Andrew Yang to stay like this instead of saying we needed to be willing to welcome white supremacists into the political coalition. When I expressed concern people said I moved left and this has been Yang all along, no y’all moved right, this wasn’t him all along.

I swear so many stupid articles get published because people click on them to see what the rationale behind the stupidity is and find points within it to call out. Doesn’t matter much if you hated the article or not, they got a reader out of it and impressions on advertisements.

This man should be on paid leave to help raise their child. This man could use UBI so as a family they could afford childcare or so 1 parent can afford to stay home raising the child. This is not good for the kid, this is not good for the parent, & this is not good for society.

UBI doesn’t disincentivize work. UBI boosts labor power & ability to afford new opportunities/skills. Universal Programs > Means-Tested Programs Universal Basic Services are more paternalistic, provide less choice & cost more admin than UBI. UBS isn’t mutually exclusive to UBI

1 income households would be cool for people to be able to choose if they want to be at home with kids or an elderly parent needing care. In this economy that isn’t a realistic choice for many to be able to make. One way we can start to address this is a universal basic income.
