All of these Universities began life as Technical Colleges. Over the years, for mainly political reasons, they have been "upgraded". Thousands of foreign students attend University on a visa and then claim asylum. We do not need so many Universities, we need Technical Colleges.

In recent years Essex Conservative councillors have attempted to sell off important local buildings including: Brentwood Town Hall - opened by the Queen in 1956 Shenfield Library Ingatestone Library Bishops Hill Community Building and Education Centre Fortunately, local protests and my own, strong councillor representations stopped them. They have also increased your council tax by 25% in just five years and last year fixed 26% fewer potholes in Essex than the year before. The Essex Conservative administration also sent out emails to staff asking if they were ‘offended by the British flag’. Oh, and they spent £43m on taxis last year. Yes, taxis. A man NOT from Swansea has been jailed after he was found guilty of the rape of an underage girl. 48-year-old Lukman Oyofo, from the city centre, pleaded not guilty to the offence, with the incident having taken place at his flat on December 6 2024. However, he did admit under interview that he had had sexual intercourse with the victim, insisting that this was consensual. Oyofo was also found guilty of assaulting a female aged 13 and over by penetration. He pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault on a female for offences which took place on November 24 and November 30 2024. He has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

23/01/2026  Yusuf Nur   A man has been sentenced to 10 years, with an extension period of six years, after he was convicted of a rape and an attempt to rape. Yusuf Nur, aged 47, of Cardiff, pleaded guilty to the two offences on September 15, 2025 and was today (January 23) sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court. The court heard how, on August 17, at around 5.20am, the 19-year-old victim flagged down officers on patrol and reported the rape that had just occurred on Kingsway, in the city centre. Nur was swiftly located, arrested and charged. Despite initially denying any contact, the extensive work carried out by officers including forensic and CCTV review, Nur then changed his plea to guilty.
