76% 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 🌎𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐚𝐭! A landmark global review has just revealed a massive gap in public health: more than three-quarters of the global population are failing to meet the recommended intake of Omega-3 (EPA and DHA). This collaborative research from the University of East Anglia, the University of Southampton, and Holland & Barrett is the first to map out omega-3 guidelines across every stage of life. The verdict? Most of us are falling short, and the consequences for our long-term health are too big to ignore. The "Omega Gap" Matters at Every Life Stage: 🤰 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐲: Crucial for reducing pre-term birth and supporting an infant's brain and eye development. ❤️ 𝐀𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬: Essential for maintaining cardiovascular health and a robust immune system. 🧠 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲: Higher intakes are associated with a reduced risk of depression, cognitive decline, biological age, and even Alzheimer’s disease. Why is it so hard to hit the target? The review found that the most common recommendation for healthy adults is 250mg of combined EPA and DHA per day. However, achieving this through diet alone, especially with modern concerns around sustainable fishing and low seafood consumption, is a major barrier for millions. As Prof Anne Marie Minihane, from UEA’s Norwich Medical School, explains: "𝘞𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘪𝘨 𝘨𝘢𝘱𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘶𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘦. 𝘛𝘰 𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘨𝘢𝘱, 𝘸𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘦𝘳, 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴, 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘴 𝘦𝘯𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘨𝘢-3𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘫𝘰𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘣𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴." 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲: If you aren't eating oily fish such as salmon or mackerel at least twice a week, you are likely part of the 76% missing out on this vital nutrients’ protection. Whether through diet or high-quality supplementation, closing your "Omega Gap" is one of the simplest ways to improve both your long- and short-term health. April is 𝐈𝐁𝐒 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡. This chronic gut condition, marked by pain and bloating, is a puzzle of bacterial, environmental, and stress factors. But what about the genetic and epigenetic link?🧬 By examining genotypes, DNA methylation, and lifestyle data, we have uncovered a new layer of the IBS story. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: 1. 𝐈𝐁𝐒 & 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲: Surprisingly, IBS appears to cause no significant alteration in biological ageing. It is a condition that impacts the quality of life, not the quantity. ☠️ 2. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐩: Sufferers showed unhealthy methylation on specific inflammation-causing genes. We are investigating whether IBS causes this methylation, or if this epigenetics profile is what causes IBS. 🔥 3. 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: Those with IBS showed increased mutations in the TNF, CD53, FOXY3, and COMT genes.🧬 4. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫: A massive 94% of the IBS group possessed a mutated MCM6 gene, which is directly linked to progressive lactose intolerance. 🥛 5. 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐜 & 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤: Nearly all participants carried the HLA-DQ2 and DQ8 haplotypes, which are highly associated with celiac disease.🍞 6. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Both high stress levels and sleeping less than 8 hours a night were significantly overrepresented in the IBS cohort.😴 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩? 𝐄𝐩𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: High-quality Curcumin (Turmeric) may act directly on the genes showing unhealthy methylation, though dosage is key to avoid symptoms. 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐮𝐭-𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐱𝐨𝐧: Relaxation techniques like meditation and yoga are proven to help. 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Reducing lactose and implementing a food diary (focusing on gluten) is essential. For those with specific TNF mutations, a high glutamine intake (10-15g) can be beneficial. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞: Rule: Sleeping less than 6 hours increases inflammatory gene expression (cytokine response). Prioritising 8 hours of quality sleep is a foundation of management. This research is just the beginning!! Our ongoing studies into DNA methylation are moving beyond symptom management and toward a future where we can predict, track, and ultimately outsmart chronic gut conditions. Better Gut Health. A recent study from the well-known Framingham Heart Study found that a low Omega-3 level could predict an early death just as well as key risk factors like cholesterol, blood pressure, and smoking. The Framingham Heart Study is one of the world's longest-running studies on cardiovascular disease. Its research led to the creation of the Framingham Risk Score, which uses eight standard factors to determine a person's risk for heart disease. This new finding adds a low Omega-3 Index to that list of powerful predictors, putting it in the same category as smoking and high blood pressure. 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞…. Carrots: The Secret to Glowing Skin? 🥕 New research shows that carrots aren’t just for vision, they’re fantastic for your skin. Snacking on baby carrots just 3x a week significantly increases skin carotenoids, boosting your antioxidant protection and immune function. But there is a genetic catch: The BCO1 Gene. Your body needs to convert Beta-carotene (from plants) into Retinol (the active form of Vitamin A) to unlock the best skin benefits, like collagen production and wrinkle reduction. The Vitamin A Breakdown: •Carotenoids (Plants): Act as antioxidants and anti-inflammatories. •Retinoids (Animal sources): Essential for skin health, reproduction, and deep collagen support. Check Your DNA 🧬 If you carry specific variants in your BCO1 gene (rs7501331 and rs12934922), your ability to convert plant-based carotene into Vitamin A could be 60% lower than average. The Muhdo Edge: Don’t guess your Vitamin A needs. By mapping your BCO1 gene, we can tell if you require direct retinoid sources to keep your skin and immune system at their peak. Ready to see if your genes are blocking healthier skin? 👉 Click the DNA + Epigenetic link in our bio to start your DNA journey. #Longevity #SkinHealth #VitaminA #BCO1 #Biohacking #MuhdoHealth #Carrots #GlowUp

Don’t get "𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡-𝐥𝐞𝐝" ❌ Methylation Tests…. Everyone seems to be talking about "Methylation tests," but there’s a catch: most of these DNA tests don't actually measure DNA methylation at all. They look at your fixed genetic blueprint (like the MTHFR gene) rather than how your genes are actually performing. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: DNA vs. Epigenetics 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝: Many popular DNA testing companies provide a standard DNA health test. It’s a static "test" that never changes, giving you very limited, one-time insights. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: A True DNA Methylation (Epigenetic) test, like Muhdo, measures the chemical "switches" that turn your genes on or off based on your day-to-day lifestyle. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐮𝐡𝐝𝐨 𝐄𝐝𝐠𝐞 🧬 We provide both types of tests, and unlike other companies can track your biological age in real-time with our peer-reviewed MethylPace technology. Because epigenetics is dynamic. You can test throughout the year to see exactly how your habits are reversing the biological clock. Don't settle for a basic map when you can have a real-time account of how your daily habits are affecting your genes. Stop guessing and start measuring the biomarkers that actually scream the truth about your longevity. “𝑴𝒖𝒉𝒅𝒐 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆; 𝒘𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈” Better Longevity, backed by science 🧬 #DNAtesting #methylation #genes #epigenetic #muhdo #truemethylation #lifestyle #environment #healthyageing

MTHFR: The Secret Sauce 🧬 Ever wonder why B vitamins are always grouped together? It’s because they work as a team in "One Carbon Metabolism" Basically, it drives DNA synthesis, nerve repair, and cellular energy. Here is what the latest research from Tufts University reveals about B-Vitamins. Brain Health (B12): Up to 40% of people over 75 struggle to absorb B12 from food. Low levels are directly linked to nerve decline and dementia. Tip: "Low-normal" blood levels can still cause neurological issues, so precision testing is key. Heart & Blood Pressure (B2): Riboflavin (B2) can effectively lower blood pressure, but primarily for those with the MTHFR 677 TT genotype. This is why knowing your DNA is vital for targeted nutrition. Stroke Prevention (B6, B12, Folate): This trio reduces Homocysteine, a toxic byproduct linked to heart attacks, strokes, and cognitive decline. While they don't always prevent heart attacks, they are proven to lower stroke risk. Cholesterol (B3): Niacin can slash "bad" LDL and boost "good" HDL, but high doses often cause uncomfortable skin flushing. The Muhdo Edge: Don't guess which B vitamins you need. By mapping your MTHFR and other genes, we help you optimise your "One Carbon Metabolism" to protect your heart and brain. “The contribution of vitamin B12 deficiency to cognitive decline and the vascular disease that results in many cases of dementia is under-diagnosed and under-reported." Irwin H. Rosenberg, Jean Mayer University Professor Emeritus, Tufts University. Ready to see how your body processes B vitamins? Click the Muhdohub website 🔗in bio. Reflecting on 30 Years of the Bermuda Principles: Mapping the Future of Genomics 🇧🇲 𝐅𝐔𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄-𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐎𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐆𝐋𝐎𝐁𝐀𝐋 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐍 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐂𝐒 In 1996, the Bermuda Principles changed the world, establishing the gold standard for open, ethical genomic data sharing. Muhdo Health were honoured to return to where it all began. Muhdo Health was a proud sponsor of the BP30 30th Anniversary Conference at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, a Fairmont Managed Hotel Bermuda. Representing our leadership team, our CFO Richard Layton was fortunate enough to attend and chat with some of the architects of modern genetics and the global experts shaping the next 30 years of biodiversity, data sovereignty and privacy within healthcare and innovation. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐮𝐡𝐝𝐨 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞: We believe that for genomics to truly benefit us all, it must be comprehensive. That’s why Muhdo provides a dual-layered approach to health: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭 (𝐃𝐍𝐀): Analysing the genetic foundation, with a whole variety of health topics you were born with, from heart health, diet response, hormone health to injury risk. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐄𝐩𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬): Measuring DNA Methylation, the chemical "dimmer switches" that show how your lifestyle choices are currently affecting gene expression and your biological age. By merging these two data sets, we turn a "static" report into a living, breathing manual for long-term health. We are grateful for Dr Carika Weldon, MRSB, FIBMS leadership at this milestone event as we continue to chart a future where genomics is an inclusive, life-saving tool for everyone.

From DNA Data to Dinner Plate. Start Eating for Your Genes. Stop playing "health roulette" with your diet. Ever wondered why your friend feels great on keto, but you just feel tired? Or why some people can drink espresso at 9pm while you're wired for hours? The answer is in your Nutrigenetics. The powerful bridge between your DNA and your dinner plate. At Muhdo, we turn your genetic "data" into a daily "doing" list. 🧬 Here’s how we do it: Step 1: Identify Your Blueprint Your genes control how you process everything from saturated fat to caffeine. ☕ We pinpoint if you're a "super-processor" or if your body needs a little extra help. We find out if you naturally require higher levels of specific nutrients, like B12 or Vitamin D, based on your unique internal roadblocks. Step 2: Quantify the Results We don't just give you advice and walk away. We use Epigenetics to measure if that advice is actually working. Generic advice says, "take Vitamin A for your eyes." We tell you if it’s actually working for YOU by testing your epigenetic biomarkers. We can then literally see if your "Eye Age" or "Memory Age" is improving because of the specific changes you’ve made. Stop guessing and start knowing. Your body has the answers, we just help you read them. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒-𝐀𝐃 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐦𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐦! 🇳🇱 Our CFO, Richard Layton, recently joined collaborators from over 30 top-tier organisations across Europe and the U.S. at the General Assembly in Amsterdam. The mission? To solve one of the greatest healthcare challenges of our time: the early detection and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. We are incredibly proud to announce that Muhdo Health has been named the Official Epigenetics Partner for the ACCESS-AD consortium, a groundbreaking pan-European initiative under the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI). Why Muhdo? Why Epigenetics? 🧬 While genetics is the blueprint you’re born with, Epigenetics and our expertise in DNA Methylation allows us to see the "dimmer switches" on your DNA. Long before symptoms like memory loss appear, Alzheimer’s begins altering these methylation patterns at a cellular level. By identifying these chemical changes, Muhdo is helping build the foundation for: ·       Ultra-early detection (years before clinical symptoms). ·       Equitable access to disease-modifying therapies. ·       Proactive intervention that actually changes the trajectory of the disease. With dementia cases in Europe set to double by 2050, the time for action is now. We’re honoured to bring our science and technology to this critical mission, alongside our partners and theInnovative Health Initiative (IHI) to turn plans into life-saving actions. If you're interested in working with us from a research or diagnostic perspective? Please email info@muhdo.com for further information.

Tick Tok…Tick Tok ⏱️ What is your Biological Clock? Wikipedia states that “Ageing is the process of becoming older,” and “Longevity” is sometimes used as a synonym for “Life expectancy”. In most instances, we often just look at ageing in one dimension: the representation of time and how many years you have been alive. However, in reality, a multitude of aspects surrounding your lifestyle, such as diet, stress, exercise, sleep, as well as your environment will affect the rate at which we age. Most of us will be completely unaware that we actually have two ages…….. 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐊𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐲!🧬 Apologies for the rant! A large proportion of the modern longevity community seems to be overdoing it, and simply doing too much and literally killing themselves to stay young, in my opinion! Paralysis by “over -analysis”, has destroyed many a great athlete 🏋️‍♂️and teams over the years, instead of just enjoying the game and playing with a smile on their face, and I feel the longevity community is doing the same, and unfortunately going in the same direction. Take Bryan Johnson, arguably the poster child of the longevity world and credit to him for pushing boundaries (seriously, well done Bryan!). But the level of stress I encounter, both online and in daily conversations, is truly alarming. Questions like: “Should I be tracking this? Should I take that? Do I need cold plunges, saunas, what blood tests, how often? Should I be practicing mindfulness, especially since I’m always stressed?!” The last point sums it up perfectly. So much stress and pressure to look, feel, or live younger may actually be causing more harm than good. Now, you might say, “Hang on James, isn’t your company, @Muhdohealth , in the longevity game with your DNA and epigenetic testing?🧬” And yes, you’re absolutely right. It might sound like I’m a turkey voting for Christmas! But here’s my caveat: Having an understanding on your current health, and a sense of the trajectory you’re on, can be genuinely useful and provide helpful nudges in the right direction. But, and it’s a “big” but, obsessing over every detail of your health can end up accelerating problems rather than solving them. Sometimes exhausting yourself to live longer simply means you’re not really living. 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞, my epigenetic biological age matches Bryan Johnson’s, and I’m also 47 years young! Yet I still enjoy the occasional beer and steak for dinner each night (delicious, by the way). My focus isn’t just adding years to my life but adding life to my years! That’s the real mission behind Muhdo Health, who are flying the flag for British Science🇬🇧 P.S. Sometimes, having a cold beer 🍺does more for your smile and wellbeing than any cold plunge 🥶ever could. Simply enjoy your life! #muhdo #muhdohub #longevity #DNA #antiageing #epigenetics #stress #liveyourlife #nutrigenetics #nutrigenomics

"𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦-𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞." Caught in a stress loop? It’s likely the "Magnesium-Stress Circle." Magnesium acts as your nervous system's brake pedal, but stress forces your body to remove it.
