We recorded a peaceful memorial walk today. Thank you all. 🙏🏾 It has been impossible for me to forget the events that occurred on 20/10/2020 because of the innocent lives that were lost and also because of the dehumanization that I suffered from the Nigerian Police afterwards. But I know that most Nigerians have moved on or want to completely move on from the EndSars Memorial walks that happen every October. Not because they have forgotten but because they are scared of what could happen everytime we come out in the name of #EndSars. We have seen Nigerians killed, brutalized and unjustly incarcerated for this cause and there has been zero consequences. So I understand the frustration. It seems some of us are still holding on to what a lot of people wish to let go and I have to apologize if we are bringing back memories that some people wish to forget. Moving forward, I will continue to use my platform to remember 20/10/2020 in different peaceful ways to honor all those who have fallen and also continue to advocate for an End to Police brutality… But I will not use my platform to call on Nigerians to come out again. I understand the influence that I have and I will never be able to forgive myself if any other Nigerian Youth is killed or brutalized on the account of Endsars. We must focus on other ways to continue to honor our brothers and sisters and demand for respect of the lives and dignity of all Nigerians. Endsars is bigger than me and any other person. It’s a movement of the people. And should the people ever decide to collectively lend their voice again, I’ll always be there no matter what!!! “But sha, I still dey and there shall be no compromise”
