Private sector, you see a Dr. In the NHS, the plan is for you to see anyone but a Dr. That is a political choice, & it is putting lives at risk UK already has fewer Drs per head than 🇪🇺 No other nation is responding to that gap by designing Drs out of patient care Training more!

I will just point out two simple facts, UK oil is completely privatised Secondly the UK does not even produce 1% of the world's oil and gas. So it doesn't matter how much oil and gas we drill in the UK you don't own any of it and there is so little it won't affect Global prices

Absolute bombshell on CNN. A former federal prosecutor confirms AG Pam Bondi pulled agents off counter-terrorism to scour the Epstein files and redact Donald Trump's name. She orchestrated a massive cover-up to protect the President and obstruct justice.

There can't be flights without pilots. There can't be law without lawyers. There can't be healthcare without doctors. So why is the government acting like doctors are replaceable?

Only reason for Pete Hegseth to fire top generals in middle of a war is that they refused to follow orders. Only reason well-respected generals would refuse to follow DOD Secretary's orders was that those orders were insane. Americans are going to die for Pete & Donald's egos.

The MMR vaccine has no aborted fetal tissue in it. This is the kind of nonsense that only a committed anti vaxxer like RFK Jr would say to scare people off one of the safest and most effective vaccines in history.

This is awful. The NHS cut the number of radiology trainees between 2022 and last year. 4011 qualified doctors applied for just 356 jobs in radiology last year. That means we turned away 3655 doctors whilst scans are piling up. Cuts to training numbers don’t help anyone.
Good Morning Britain@GMB

New analysis of NHS data shows that from January to September 2025, more than 700,000 scan results were not given to patients within the recommended 28 days. Liz Hand, who received a stage four cancer diagnosis in November last year, explains how 'scanxiety' impacted her. @DrAmirKhanGP joins her as he shares his tips on how to manage scanxiety.

Strange how British nationalists can get the most basic facts abt Britain, Great Britain & the UK so embarrassingly wrong. There is no British nation of 1,400 years. The British nation formed by the union of 1707 is just over 300 years old. Only 1,100 years out!
Ben Graham@BenGrahamUK

Britain has been a Christian nation for over 1,400 years. The title Defender of the Faith isn’t symbolic, it carries weight. Yet this Easter, there’s silence. To overlook the faith of the nation at its most sacred time is a real bad look.

This is ethically right and logical. Assisted dying is not a choice if there isn't equitable access to palliative care (including specialist palliative care and the option of a hospice). I know this from bearing witness personally and professionally to suffering.

Discussion this week with #suicideprevention leaders overseas about #AssistedDying. They agree there is a risk of undermining suicide prevention generally. Despair has many causes. Proponents of the Bill here are reluctant to accept this but they need to listen.

'When I took office I was struck by the mismatch between the numbers of resident Drs & available training places. My commitment to you remains that this is too important to treat as a transactional matter.’ -Wes Streeting MP, before making it a transactional matter
Wes Streeting@wesstreeting

Thanks to this Government resident doctors have already received a 28.9% average pay rise. The deal on offer goes further on pay, and would create more training places - including 1,000 now. The BMA can’t even offer an alternative proposal. I’d urge everyone to read this👇🏻

Everyone who is implementing this would *absolutely* have their medical care delivered by a doctor, if they had a choice. No question.

In January I suggested that 'The NHS is too reliant on resident doctors' hsj.co.uk/comment/the-nh…. Today we publish an interview with NHS England CEO Jim Mackey in which he tells us: 'We’ll reduce our reliance on resident doctors in response to strikes' hsj.co.uk/workforce/mack…

Brilliant thread. And why are people still listening to Esther bloody Rantzen? When clinicians and disabled people’s organisations who know what they are talking about are saying: Don’t Do This!!!
Nikki da Costa@nmdacosta

Esther Rantzen says MPs need to "invoke the Parliament Acts" and force an identical bill, with all its flaws, on to the statute books. They're looking for 200 MPs willing to do that to their most vulnerable constituents. A 🧵on their plan 1/ news.sky.com/story/how-fox-…

Subsidising meals in parliament for MPs and Peers costs the UK taxpayer up to £7 million a year. Despite the public facing huge food price inflation, we pay MPs & Peers to indulge on cheap fine dining. It’s time to remove taxpayer funded subsidies on parliamentary food.
