We’re honored to announce that Providence Nkurunziza is our second keynote speaker for the 2026 Social Studies Summit on June 18, 2026 in Austin, TX. Providence is a survivor of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, an author, and an international speaker dedicated to educating others through the power of testimony and remembrance. Her work challenges us to examine history with honesty and to consider our responsibility as educators in helping students understand the impact of violence, bias, and human rights violations.
