This is what many people fail to realize: It is FAR more difficult for a RICH kid to make it to the NBA, or the NFL than it is for a POOR kid.
This is why 95% of the athletes in the NFL and the NBA come from either poor, or lower middle-class families.
You see these idiots talking about “Nepo babies,” and athletes only achieving success because of their rich fathers. You folks have no clue.
When you are a poor kid, the pain of watching your mother suffer is what DRIVES you. This pain robs you of sleep at night. It DRIVES you to WORK when all of your teammates are just enjoying life.
Deion Sanders was a high school star athlete in FOUR sports: Baseball, basketball, track, AND football. He WORKED year-round. He sacrificed his youth.
Why? He watched his mother work three jobs. He saw his mother tired and struggling to get rest. The PAIN of watching his mother suffer DROVE him to the NFL AND to the Major Leagues.
Lebron’s mother gave birth to him at 16. He watched her struggle. He worked his butt off to save her. He was great at football AND basketball. He was determined to rescue his mother.
When he signed his deal with Nike coming out of high school, his FIRST order of business was to move her out of the low-income housing projects.

Bronny James does not HAVE to play basketball. His father owns a massive business enterprise. He could quit basketball tomorrow to either start his own businesses, or to become the VP of his father’s businesses.
Shedeur Sanders does not HAVE to play football. He could leave football tomorrow to open up a chain of businesses if he wished to. He had that option coming out of college.

These guys are not driven by pain or poverty. They are driven by their individual desires to be great, and their competitive natures.
These guys are also cursed by the greatness of their fathers. Their accomplishments will be overlooked by both the media and the general public because they will always be measured against the successes of their fathers. This adds enormous pressure.
When you grow up rich, poor athletes envy you. They hate you. They go at your throat because they can’t be you. They save their best efforts for YOU. They try to break you before you make it. They want to see you fail.
Surviving these attacks, along with the pressures of the national media that comes with being the descendants of greatness requires a great deal of heart and mental toughness. This explains why Bronny and Shedeur are mentally and physically as tough as they come.
