There’s a lot of artists right now that aren’t seeing the financial motivation to stay in music. So they’re turning to other things to supplement the income and pouring time into that. Something gotta change with the way streaming works and is paid

Streams can pay more by a tier list. Artists that hit certain tiers could easily be paid more. A certain number of lifetime streams, or a certain number of monthly’s, or a certain number of songs that hit a certain number etc. you can treat it like stock. The more you invest in and perform the more we pay out. That way all these random new ppl don’t get paid more JUST Because they are dropping. There are ways

Streams CANNOT pay more as the business model cannot withstand it. In 2025 alone, over 50 million new songs were uploaded to Spotify, representing roughly 20% of the total music available on the platform. This volume represents approximately 106,000 new tracks added daily.
At these massive levels year in, year out, there is no incentive to change. It's quantity over quality. So if it's not working for you or friends, go back to the traditional ways.

Of course I know that, no platform would refuse money to prioritize the major label and indie acts that are the most profitable and commercial, but Spotify is another platform to the existing online and legacy media platforms already used to promote those acts. When I talk about the 90% acts on purely streaming as their main outlet, they will massively struggle.
