India is currently the hottest large region on Earth by a huge margin with 95 of the world’s 100 warmest cities right now.
Large parts of northern and eastern India are experiencing extreme heat much earlier than usual, with dozens of cities in the 43–47°C range while most of the rest of the world is far cooler.

Excellent day to make that statement given that we just published a report TODAY showing renewables overtook coal power in 2025 for the first time in over 100 years.
The share of coal power has been consistently falling for over a decade now and will continue to do so.

You wouldn't know it if you live in the USA or consume US media and politics, but the fight between EVs and ICEs is basically over. Internal combustion is on it's way out. First it'll look slow, then fast. Fleet turnover will lag sales. But ALL the growth globally is in EVs. If your company isn't competitive in building EVs and can only build internal combustion, you're going to be stuck serving an ever-smaller share of a shrinking global market over the next decade...

The daytime max barely moved since the 1980s. But it's hotter than 30C for MUCH longer
Heat stress lasts longer: used to get cooler by 4:27 PM → now HOT till 5:54 PM
The night used to cool down below 22°C and we used to recover — now hours per night under 22°C — shrank from 3½ hours to 48 minutes!
No wonder I'm cranky and exhausted in the mornings!

In just over a decade, Chile went from no utility-scale wind or solar at all to having more electricity from these sources than from all fossil fuels combined:
2000: wind+solar provided 0% of Chile's electricity, fossil fuels 45%
2025: wind+solar 36%, fossil fuels 28%.

New from me: No increase in global coal power generation after Hormuz closure - solar and wind growth covered the fall in gas-fired generation. The record buildout of clean energy in 2025 helped mitigate the impact of the Hormuz closure.
