On Trans Day of Visibility, in the shadow of this devastating Supreme Court decision, I am reminded of the hope I felt as we gathered in front of the Supreme Court earlier this year. To the Trans community, this is my message today and every day.

Today we recognize the resiliency of the transgender community. Trans rights are human rights and these Americans deserve equality under the law.

Today we celebrate the bravery & resilience of the trans community in the face of relentless attacks by anti-equality extremists who seek to erase & control trans voices & stories. Our members will always fight for our trans siblings’ right to exist openly & authentically. #TDOV

As a Member of the @EqualityCaucus, I’m fighting to protect the rights & dignity of trans Americans every day.   Trans people deserve the freedom to live openly & authentically, access healthcare, and be seen. #TDOV

On Trans Day of Visibility, we are reminded to celebrate—and do more to protect—our transgender communities. LGBTQ+ people deserve health care fueled by support and affirmation, not cruelty and hate. That’s what I’ll keep fighting for.

Trans rights are human rights. On Trans Day of Visibility and every day, I am committed to ensuring our state has some of the strongest human rights laws in the nation. You belong, you are seen, and you are loved here in Illinois.

Today is Trans Day of Visibility so as Sir Charles Barkley famously said: "If you’re gay, bless you. If you’re trans, bless you. If you have a problem with that, F*CK YOU!"

On Trans Visibility Day, we stand with trans Americans and their right to live openly. No one should be targeted simply for being who they are.

Today on Trans Day of Visibility, we celebrate the trans community and honor their resilience and courage. Transgender Americans deserve to live freely and safely. That hasn't changed, and neither has our commitment to fighting for it.

To every trans person: you deserve to be seen, respected, protected, honored and loved just as you are. Your life and joy matter and your presence enriches our communities. Democrats will never stop fighting for your dignity, safety and equality! -NP #TransDayOfVisibility
