The details are important - but protecting the development of our children is vital to our future. It's welcome to see state intervention on companies that are changing our society for the worse. The Good Society needs to be actively built every single day.

We are banning social media access for under 16s. These days kids must find their feet in a world where technology intrudes into every area of their life. I just can’t let that go on anymore. So we’re giving children their childhoods back.

I spoke with Rob, a Makerfield resident and Environment Agency whistleblower featured in Channel 4's 'Dirty Business'. He wants to see Andy Burnham @andy4makerfield elected and water brought into public ownership.

Keir Starmer’s time as Prime Minister will be remembered for indecision and an unwillingness to commit to the difficult decisions. You can’t please everyone in Government, yet Starmer has uniquely managed to please no one. Compass on John Healey's resignation as Defence Sec👇

Compelling read from brilliant Compass member @Francis_W_Shin. All serious contenders for Labour Party leadership want to move Britain closer to the EU. But without electoral reform, any reset risks being torn up by the next Eurosceptic government. 👇

The two-party system has fractured, and it isn't coming back. The question now is whether the progressive majority in this country can find a way to come together and win on a bold progressive mandate. Andy Burnham's pitch to lead Labour and keep out Reform rests on that plan.

Today I raised an urgent question in parliament about the systemic failures in the water sector. The constants disasters of privatised water are not the symptoms of market failure. This is the market working as designed: profits out, sewage in, cost of living up, security of supply, decimated. You can no more regulate privatised water companies than you can the tide. So I asked the Minister for Water: how many more failures, how many more inquiries, how many more deaths - before the Government accepts these problems are systemic – and gives the public the option of taking their water back?

On 30th May, nearly a thousand progressives - from different parties and none - chose to walk through the same door at #ChangeNOW. Because the threat of the far right is real. And we can only beat them if we're hopeful, bold, and united. Full speeches coming soon.

At the local elections, Reform swept away progressive parties in much of the North East, exploiting First Past the Post. Progressive parties need to work collaboratively to stand up for progressive voters in left behind areas. @NEBylines's Peter Sagar outlines the scale of this progressive tragedy:
