John Amos was a beloved figure who graced our screens and left an mark on television history. Best known for his iconic role as James Evans on Good Times, Amos portrayed a strong, loving father figure who resonated deeply with Black families across America.
Beyond his talents as an actor, Amos took on groundbreaking roles in Roots, Coming to America, and many other memorable films and shows. He was also a trailblazer, advocating for authentic Black representation in Hollywood throughout his career.
As we reflect on his extraordinary contributions to entertainment and culture, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. Rest in power.

Dikembe Mutombo was an incredible basketball player – one of the best shot blockers and defensive players of all time. But he also inspired a generation of young people across Africa, and his work as the NBA’s first global ambassador changed the way athletes think about their impact off the court. Michelle and I are thinking of Dikembe’s family and everyone who knew and loved him.
