Sam, this is just wrong. The AL Legislature has woefully inadequate checks on its power, and you all just removed one of the few that existed. The proper, conservative course now would be to draft a Constitutional Amendment enshrining the Lt. Governor’s now-former role. Let We the People decide. I usually really like @Sam_Givhan but he is absolutely wrong here. What this did is to remove the people's voice in leading the Senate. Much like the role of the Speaker of the House, the role of the Lieutenant Governor was to make appoints, set agendas, and lead the Senate. Had the position been one that is appointed to office, as it is in so many other States, then this argument of 'the separation of powers' would have merit. However in Alabama, the office is elected directly by the citizens. This was OUR representative to lead the Senate. Sure, this was about "transferring power back to the legislative branch" but it wasn't away from the Executive Branch as much as it was away from "We The People". The Senate insulated itself to function not at the direction of the citizens of Alabama, but at the direction of lobbyist. Calling this conservatism while stripping the people of their power, is a lie. First it was the PSC, and now this. What more does this cabal want to take from us?

Potentially correctable differences include: spectral response differences between the two cameras, spectral differences between sunlight and moonlight, and removal of nighttime airglow. It would be interesting to see a true, fair comparison, but before anyone tries to draw any conclusions, such careful comparisons would need to be made.
